Paul served in Vietnam as a medic. He made it home but felt unhappy and distant, which he felt was disappointing his family. He hid his military experience, feeling angry and hurt by the attitudes toward Vietnam Veterans. Years later, stress and trouble sleeping led him to seek counseling, and his life turned around for the better.
