As a combat engineer serving in the Army, Gary lost a friend. When he came home, he worked long hours and drank. After his platoon sergeant committed suicide, he knew he had to turn things around for himself. He attended AA meetings and saw a counselor for PTSD. Now he has better relationships with his family and no longer drinks.
