When Doug left the Army, he had a lot of back pain. To ease the pain, he started taking prescription opioids and soon became addicted. When a battle buddy talked to Doug about his addiction, he decided to get help. He was able to turn his life around with support from friends and family and a medication-assisted treatment program.
