Vernon spent 30 days in a coma after a training accident. He suffered flashbacks and began using drugs to deal to mask the pain. After his military career ended, his feelings of shame and depression increased. With the support of his family, Vernon found help to address his issues. Now he lives a more balanced life and works to help others in need.
