Welcome!

Several times a month, here’s where we’ll share advice and insight from real Veterans on how to handle major life events — transitioning to civilian life, overcoming physical injury, strengthening relationships, and more. We’ll feature Veterans who have learned to live with PTSD, beat their drinking problems, and recovered from other mental health challenges to find a renewed sense of purpose.

The experiences you’ll hear about on What’s New come from more than 400 Veterans and their family members who have used their voices and shared their stories with Make the Connection over the past five years. Each Veteran will share a personal story of finding strength, seeking connection, and discovering a better life in recovery.

Here’s what you can expect to find:

  • Inspiration from real Veterans of all service eras and branches discussing their mental health challenges — and how they overcame them
  • Information for Veterans and the family members or friends of a Veteran who may be experiencing mental health challenges
  • Ideas for healthy ways to address signs and symptoms of mental health conditions
  • Ways to use your voice to spread the word about Veteran mental health
